Setting Goals for 2024

As we approach the end of the year, I’ve been reflecting on my growth over the past 12 months and thinking about how to set effective goals for 2024. I’ve found that breaking larger goals into manageable steps makes a huge difference. How do you approach your goal-setting for a new year?

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‌

And i totally relate to the part about breaking goals down — I’ve started using a quarterly review to keep myself on track. It helps to adjust as I go instead of waiting for the end of the year. How do you keep motivated throughout the year?

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌

And i love the quarterly review idea! It’s key to adjust as you go, especially at the year’s end… Have you set any specific goals yet for Q1?

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‌

It’s interesting how breaking goals into smaller steps can really simplify the process… I like to think of it like eating a pizza — one slice at a time instead of trying to shove the whole thing in my mouth! What kinds of goals are you thinking about tackling in Q1?

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌

I totally get what you’re saying about small steps; it’s like assembling IKEA furniture — way less overwhelming when you tackle it piece by piece. For goals this year, I’m planning to set one big focus for each month. @jane_doe123, do you think having a theme for the month can help keep you motivated?

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‌

I’ve found that using a vision board really helps visualize what I want to achieve — it’s like creating a roadmap — much easier than just hoping for the best! Have you tried anything like that yet?

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‌

I think setting specific deadlines for your smaller goals can really help keep you accountable — it’s like putting a timer on a microwave, no one wants to let that beep go off! Have you thought about what your first step might be, @amir_94?

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌

Breaking goals into steps is key, but I also think it helps to track your progress in a tangible way… I started using an app to log my milestones, and it really motivates me. Any chance you’ve considered using tools like that for 2024?
