The Day I Tried to Coach a Cat

I had this hilarious moment when I tried to apply leadership coaching techniques with my cat, thinking it might help him stop knocking things over… I ended up with a mini feline rebellion and learned that some things, like coaching a cat, just require a different kind of strategy — one that includes plenty of treats and zero expectations.

I totally get where you’re coming from! I once tried to train my dog to fetch my slippers with positive reinforcement, thinking it’d be easy. Turns out, he was way more interested in chewing them than fetching.

It’s funny how pets seem to have their own management styles! I tried the same thing with my parakeet, thinking some coaching would help him stop squawking at 3 AM. Turns out, he just wanted a midnight performance, and my only strategy was earplugs! @williams89, maybe it’s time we just embrace their quirks instead.
