Varsity Head Coach (Field Hockey)
Employer: Bishop Ireton High School (Diocese of Arlington Catholic Schools)
Location: Alexandria, VA (in-person; local to school)
Pay: Stipend (amount not specified)
Type: Varsity head coach - seasonal/part-time
What You’ll Do:
Lead and coordinate all aspects of the varsity field hockey program in alignment with the school’s mission and values. You’ll teach and develop players’ skills and sportsmanship, manage the coaching staff and team budget, run pre-season and in-season training, organize practices and game-day logistics, and represent the program in a highly competitive WCAC schedule (fall season: early August through mid-November). You’ll report to the Athletic Director and collaborate with students, families, and school administrators.
Why It Stands Out:
• Lead a competitive high-school program in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC)
• Significant leadership experience—manage staff, program vision, and budget
• Opportunity to impact student-athlete development in a college-preparatory environment
• Clear seasonal focus with defined pre-season and fall commitments
Potential Trade-offs:
• Seasonal role—income depends on the unspecified stipend and program schedule
• Stipend amount not listed—confirm financial details with the school before applying
• High time commitment during pre-season and fall (practices, travel, games)
• In-person only—must be local and able to attend all required activities

This role is a great match if you’re committed to building and leading a competitive high-school program, enjoy mentoring student-athletes, and can take on staff and budget responsibilities for a fall season.
Would you take this job? Does leading a WCAC program with staff and budget duties, but unspecified stipend pay, appeal—or would you wait for a full-time, year-round coaching opportunity?
